Pricing

Flat plans. Hard caps. No overages.

Pick a tier and model the bill in your head: it's the plan price, every month, no matter what your traffic does. Hit the cap and the API stops serving — it never starts charging. Need more room mid-cycle? On Startup and Business, a prepaid top-up adds calls without changing your plan.

Every plan includes the whole product.

Plans differ by volume, layer capacity, and support — never by data. There is no enterprise gate in front of the dataset or the API surface.

The full dataset
73.6 million places with global Overture coverage, on every plan including Free.
Results you keep
Overture-backed open data: cache, store, and ship what the API returns. See data rights. Read more.
One endpoint
An authenticated GET /v1/places with query, coordinate, and radius. JSON back. No SDK required.
Account-owned layers
Add, patch, suppress, or preset place records above the base layer on any plan. Capacity grows with your tier: 250 entries on Free, 1,000 on Indie, 5,000 on Startup, 50,000 on Business.

The Google math, honestly.

Google's Places text-search SKUs run on the order of $17–$35 per 1,000 calls, so 100,000 searches a month lands in the four figures before credits. Startup is $49 flat for that volume, and Business is $249 for 1 million with a hard cap. Verify against current Google Maps Platform pricing before procurement — the gap survives the fine print, and the cost calculator runs the tiered math for your exact volume. The other difference is shape: we're narrower, Overture-backed, and built for predictable backend search. If you need autocomplete, tiles, or routing, compare the platforms first. Where the free tiers beat us.

If you're running a hobby project that just needs request volume, take a big free tier — Radar advertises 100,000 requests a month, LocationIQ allows about 150,000, Geoapify around 90,000. On price alone we can't compete with free, and we won't pretend otherwise.

Our plans exist for a different job. Most free tiers ride on terms built for disposable results — Mapbox results are temporary-use only, Radar's terms cap retention at 30 days and bar building a place database, Google lets you keep nothing but the place ID. They have to be big, because you keep re-buying the same answer. Ours is the opposite — results you keep, forever, a bill that's capped by design, and area listings that don't stop at result 60. A storable search is an asset; a rented one is a treadmill. If owning the results is the job, it starts at $19 a month. If it isn't, we're honestly not your API.

Pricing questions.

Short answers to the questions that decide whether the flat plan works for your workload.

What happens when I hit my cap?

The API returns a 402 and stops serving until your monthly reset. There is no overage tier and never a surprise charge. On Startup and Business you can buy a one-time top-up — 100,000 calls for $30 or 1 million for $150 — applied to the current cycle the moment payment clears. Top-ups are prepaid and expire at your reset: nothing recurs, nothing charges automatically. On Free and Indie the cap is simply the cap — if you're hitting it most months, the next tier is the honest fix.

Do you offer annual billing?

Yes. Indie is $190 a year, Startup is $490, and Business is $2,490 — two months free against monthly billing. Quotas still reset monthly, and the hard cap works exactly the same.

Who is the Indie plan for?

Shipped side projects and small production apps. Indie is the whole product — same dataset, same data rights, same hard cap — sized at 30,000 searches a month for $19. What it doesn't have is headroom: no prepaid top-ups, and support is best-effort. If you're outgrowing the cap most months or want top-up room mid-cycle, Startup is the next rung.

How does the price compare to Google Places?

Google's Places text-search SKUs run on the order of $17–$35 per 1,000 calls, so 100,000 searches a month lands in the four figures before credits. Startup is $49 flat for that volume, and Business is $249 for 1 million with a hard cap. Verify against current Google Maps Platform pricing before procurement.

Do I need a credit card for the free plan?

No. Sign up, create a key, and make 10,000 calls a month for free.

Can I store or cache the results?

Yes. The data is Overture-backed open data, so you can cache, store, and ship the results your product receives. That is a deliberate difference from providers whose terms limit caching or storage.

Can I use it commercially?

Yes. It's built on open Overture data. See the docs for the attribution details.

Is there a rate limit?

Yes — 120 requests per minute per account, the same on every plan. It's an operational guard, separate from your monthly quota; exceeding it returns a 429 with a Retry-After header. If your workload needs sustained throughput beyond that, email us and we'll talk through it.
